Complementary, these reading options materialize the theme of the grip/influence which can be found in many other Borges’ short stories.Dans cet article, nous nous fixons pour objectif d’identifier les différents parcours interprétatifs qui traversent « La Rencontre » (« El encuentro »), nouvelle de Jorge Luis Borges tirée de Le Rapport de Brodie (El Informe de Brodie). En effet, le lien entre combattants et armes y est susceptible d’être perçu sous l’angle du récit magique, de la narration fantastique ou du récit cryptique. En effet, jamais soumis à une expertise linguistique, encore moins sémantique, ces tests placent les patients dans des situations de communication artificielles où ne sont pris en compte ni le paradoxe de l’observateur ni la constitution du lexique telle que la sémantique textuelle contemporaine la conçoit, c’est-à-dire comme des réseaux modelés du plus global vers le plus local. En prenant appui sur les acquis de la linguistique de corpus, nous tenterons alors de montrer comment d’autres tests sont possibles.This article is a critical review of the lexical tests (naming tests, showing tests, matching tests) proposed to patients in order to make a diagnosis and to define a treatment in Alzheimer’s disease. Indeed, patients are confronted with artificial situations of communication in which the observer’s paradox is not taken into consideration. Moreover, these tests simply keep quiet the construction of the lexicon as the contemporaneous textual semantics understands it, namely networks designed from discourse kinds to morphemes. According to the expertise of corpus linguistics, we thus try to show how other tests are possible. C’est le cas de ‘commerce inéquitable’, défigement formé par ajout du préfixe « in- » à la séquence figée ‘commerce équitable’ qui a sans doute acquis à son tour le statut de lexie.It is commonly admitted that fixed multi words expressions (MWEs), term preferred in NLP, or fixed expressions and idioms (FEIs), constitute more or less the half-part of the lexicon of any language, and the way one handles them is thus essential to speak like native speakers. But since linguistics is based on the decomposition of minimal language units, we find noteworthy that they rarely take part of dictionaries. In this study, although we agree that stability and fixedness differ among FEIs and that each of them shows a characteristic behaviour on the morphological, syntactical, and semantic levels, we will only focus on the hermeneutical conditions of their variation, and more particularly on puns. In a few cases, puns are obtained by derivation of one or more segments of the FEI and the lexicalisation of modified FEIs is thus particularly interesting: let us take the case of “commerce equitable” (788 000 occurrences following Google.fr and 20 200 for the modified FEI, “commerce inéquitable”). In this example, the modified FEI seems to meet the needs of communication: “commerce inequitable” can be used in every discourse situation dedicated to neglect the improvement of workers conditions around the world. This article deals with the conditions that explain the lexicalisation of new FEIs derived on the basis of older ones.
